Whalon Lake is located on Royce Road, west of Route 53 in Naperville. Whalon Lake is an 80-acre Lake created from an abandoned quarry. A boat launch and trailer parking are available at Whalon Lake, and there is no launch fee. However, the following regulations must be followed: * Boats may be launched at Whalon Lake between April 1 and October 31. * Non-gasoline powered watercraft up to 18 feet are permitted, including fishing boats, rowboats, canoes, and kayaks. Only electric trolling motors can be used. (Gas-powered motors must be raised and out of the water.) *All watercraft must be registered with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). *All IDNR boating regulations are enforced. *Federal and State regulations require that watercraft contain one well-fitting Personal Flotation Device (PFD) for each person on the watercraft. Children under the age of 13 must wear PFDs when on water. We require all individuals regardless of age to wear PFDs when in private canoes and kayaks. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The cost is $20 per watercraft/team to enter, please bring exact amount cash only. Also bring a tape measure/bump board and some way to take digital photos. You will need to pay and sign waiver before start of tournament. . Tournament Rules 1. Tournament fee of $20 per watercraft (Classic is $30).
2. Each participant is responsible for their own actions regarding property, health, and safety while traveling to, from, and during Bent Rod events. All participants must sign entry/waiver, and pay before fishing. If your team does not “payâ€, sign entry/waiver, your team will not be considered as a Bent Rods Bass Club tournament entrant. No Exceptions!
3. You must have a valid Illinois fishing license and all required safety equipment. All state and local laws must be observed.
4. Catch, Photo and release policy. Bass must be photographed with digital camera/phone on bump board or tape measure with token provided morning of the tournament.
5. Only artificial lures may be used. Pork type baits are permitted. Only one fishing rod per angler may be used at a time. All fishing must be done from the watercraft, (No Trolling Permitted).
6. Use of electric trolling motors only (Gas motors may be used for loading and unloading boats where allowed). Oars, paddles and flippers allowed.
7. All participants are required to show a life jacket at the start of each tournament.
8. The longest three bass greater than 12 inches will be entered per watercraft(team).
9. Minimum length will be 12 inches
10. Federal, state, and local laws must be observed during tournament hours. This includes all club rules. Failure to abide by federal, state, and local laws or club rules will result in no weight allowed for the tournament in which the infraction occurred. Any contestant who displays poor sportsmanship, and/or brings unfavorable publicity to the sport of bass fishing or the Bent Rods Bass Club will be disqualified and shall forfeit all entry fees and/or prize money.
Payout info 100% pay back of all tournament fees, if no fish are caught the money will be refunded. Winner takes all
